Day 3: The Packed Lunch

I am terrible at taking packed lunches for work, I always forgot or can't be bothered and I then get a bunch of convenience foods from a shop that are high fat, high calorie, high carbs.

Today I have brought a sandwich and some fruit as well as some low calorie crisps, I did grab a couple of snack foods  (chicken bits and a samosa) and some drinkage (diet coke). Normally I'd be quite happy getting some fizzy flavoured water but when I'm on earlies I can't do this... next pay day I should buy a load and keep them in a cupboard at work.

So today's food is better calorie wise but still not great wallet wise. I need to stop buying foods on my way to work and the only way I am going to do this is by eating breakfast before work. those are my next goals...

If I stick to this then that is hitting the target of less than 1500 calories a day... fingers crossed, come on will power you can do it!!

Day 2: Chicken, Chicken and More Chicken.

This morning I avoided the temptation of going to the shop before work and grabbing some snacks, instead I limited myself to £2 at the work vending machine, still not good I know but baby steps... baby steps.

today's food is as follows:


crisps = 168
kit kat = 247
tango = 62.7
mini cheds  = 161
wrap = 380
crisps = 202
Chicken Salad = 105
Celeriac Wedges = 84



Total 1409.7
Well that leaves me some space for a couple of cheeky beers tonight.. go me.

I slipped at the final hurdle and got some snacks before I left work.  new total is as follows.

every story has a start....

My name is Scott, I am 26 years old and I overweight. In fact I am so overweight that being classified as simply overweight would be an improvement.

I find myself facing my own mortality on a daily basis, I don't know if that's because I'm getting older or because I have kids now. All I know is this... I do NOT want to die..ever, and I especially do NOT want to die young.

I have tried exercising and I have tried magic pills from the doctor but each time I try, I fail. I fall at the same hurdle every time. I snack... a lot. I snack on high fat, high calorie and low protein foods. Which means that I must be taking in well over the suggested 2500 calories a day.

The purpose of this blog is for me to not only be able to identify the problem but also to tackle it head. The first thing to do is to keep a diary of my calorie intake and also get some proper calculations and measurements about my weight, size, BMI and other things.

Today is Day 1:

so I failed to keep within 2500cals today.. maybe tomorrow.
